Job Title: Hotel Maintenance Technician

Summary

The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance of the hotel's building and grounds, as well as the operation of its equipment and mechanical/electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day maintenance tasks to ensure all equipment is in good working condition with minimal downtime.
• Complete maintenance work orders from various departments on a timely basis, adhering to the hotel's standard operating procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) and other equipment throughout the hotel.

Additional Duties

• Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a schedule basis, including tasks such as servicing the hotel's pool and maintaining the building exterior and curb appeal.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
• Utilize protective equipment and demonstrate knowledge of all maintenance trades, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
• Ability to listen effectively, speak, read, and write English clearly, as there will be interaction with guests and other team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and efficient, and maintaining a pleasant and cheerful demeanor.
• Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit continuously for the duration of the shift, with hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Skill in several areas, such as HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywalling, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
• Knowledge of basic hand and electric tools and familiarity with parts and materials.
