As the bartender for the Oaks golf course bar, you will provide our guests with a fun, fast-paced and upbeat service, being aware of what is going on around you and being ready to adapt to changing circumstances as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
- Check guest's identification to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages and be able to refuse to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age.
- Observe behavior of guests who are consuming alcoholic beverages, count number of drinks served, if needed notify supervisor or manager for assistance in "cutting off" the guest.
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.
- Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
- Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed, to balance all moneys.
- Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank.
- Responsible for answering bar phone within three rings and correctly and courteously take room service orders. Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest and personnel guests, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
- Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Follows safety and security procedures and rules.
- Assists other Beverage Personnel when need.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat
- Must be able to pass "Responsible Beverage Service Training" per state of Missouri requirements.
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests and associates.
- Scrupulously follow all Driftwood and Margaritaville Lake Resort policies and procedures.
- Adjusts to high-pressure conditions and is open to change.
- Ability to manage time well with minimal supervision.
- Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development.
- Conducts him\herself, acts and dresses with complete, clean uniform professionally at all times.
- Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
- Relevant previous training and/or experience required.
- Minimum lifting/pulling of 40 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
- Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity, continuous standing.
- Hearing, writing, typing.
