What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Agent position at Driftwood Shores Resort?
SUMMARY: Driftwood Shores has a Front desk position available, must be a friendly, outgoing, and motivated team player. Responds in a professional and courteous manner to arriving, departing, in-house guests and telephone inquiries/reservations by providing accurate and timely information and services.
Reports to: Front Office Manager
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Must have strong communications skills. Both written and verbal
· Ability to handle customer complaints and requests with tact and understanding
· Computer skills needed
· Must be reliable
· Ability to work on own.
· Must be able to work a flexible schedule (days or evenings) including weekends and holidays. This shift is 3 pm to 11 pm but could change depending on needs of the front desk.
· Ability to multi- task a plus
· Cash handling experience a must
· Must have dependable transportation
· Maintains a professional image and attitude at all times.
· Majority of shift is standing. Bending/kneeling. Must be able to reach all areas of Resort to assist guests.
· Ability to work with managers, guests and peers in a respectful/tactful manner
· Occasional carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
· Greets and completes established check in procedures for arriving guests
· Facilitates guest departure (check-out)
· Regularly calculates and/or posts monies, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit using proper cash handling methods in order to present customer with precise charges upon check out and to maintain accurate hotel records
· Courteously answers inquires and accepts reservations in person and by telephone.
Communicate hotel rates and information. Use suggestive selling to increase room nights and occupancy
· Keep abreast of all in-house and area functions to answer guest questions
· Handle incoming phone calls, assist outgoing calls when necessary, set wake up calls
upon request.
· Controls all cash transactions at front desk
· Maintains friendly, cheerful demeanor at all times
· Provides assistance to other associates and departments to provide the best overall
performance of the hotel.
· Ensure safety and security to our guests by reporting suspicious activity to security or management. Performs other duties as assigned, or requested
