Construction Project Assistant


Summary/Objective

The Construction Project Assistant (Junior) position is project-based work to support the administrative and field duties of the Construction Department. This position is responsible for a variety of tasks and odd jobs that support the workflow needs of the Project Engineer and Construction Manager and will include but is not limited to data entry, form filling, filing, site reporting, and coordinating permitting and installations.

Essential Functions

  • Enter well data into spreadsheets
  • Prepare site reports
  • Coordinate power and water hookups
  • Coordinate water permits and installations
  • Create and track assorted administrative and construction project related documents
  • Take meeting minutes of various construction meetings

Marginal Functions

  • Provide support to and assist any and all tasks as requested by the Construction Project Supervisor

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities


Work Environment

The position operates both indoors in an office environment and outdoors in construction areas. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The possibility for tripping, slipping, falling and injury could occur.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a Full-Time, non-exempt position. It is anticipated for this role to work 2-3 days per week, 6-8 hours a day, with diminishing commitment as initial projects become completed. It is possible that additional or more regular projects and tasks will become available. Collaboration, organizing and planning with the project supervisors will be expected to ensure that the hours and days are worked as necessary to ensure projects remain on schedule. Must have the ability to work mainly weekdays, with flexibility to adjust hours to project needs. Schedule is subject to change, and applicants must be flexible with schedule adjustments.


Travel

Some light driving travel is expected for this position.


Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to adapt to specialized computer software as it relates to the job tasks

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Previous experience working in a maintenance, construction, or office environment is preferred.
  • Ability to use basic Microsoft Suite programs is preferred (Word,. Excel)

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must speak English fluently and possess the ability to speak professionally to members, guests, and all departments.

Work Authorization

Must have valid work authorization to work in the United States for I-9 form purposes.
