Drink Me! Tea Room is a small, woman owned business located in Tempe, AZ. We are 100% plant-based, gluten-free, and mostly organic but our true focus is on providing an unforgettable customer experience in a modern and relaxing atmosphere.
We are looking for someone with restaurant experience to join our small kitchen team. This role will also include food prep, baking, making sandwiches and savory items as well as plating tea trays during business hours. The ideal candidate must have excellent attention to detail, consistent baking methods and a passion to create an amazing and memorable experience for our guests. We are specifically looking for someone who work well with a small team. Although we cater to vegan and gluten-free diets, no prior vegan baking experience is necessary. The goal is to enhance customer satisfaction with creativity, lovely presentation, and delicious tasting recipes! We greatly value honesty, respect and dependability in a healthy work environment. Expectations and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Operating with a guest-first mentality
- Dependable, on-time, and ability to communicate well
- Knowledge of gluten free and vegan baked goods a plus
- Ability to learn quickly and follow direction
- Decorate pastries using different techniques to ensure the presentation will be beautiful
- Controlling product inventory and out of stocks, shrink and supplies
- Ensuring food is stored and labeled properly
- Operate equipment including mixers and ovens
- Knowledge of convection and conventional baking techniques a plus
- Keep it clean! Follow the sanitization standards, make sure kitchen stays clean and organized, and follow all the food handling standards
- Cleaning duties such as stocking, sanitizing, sweeping floors, washing dishes
- Follows opening and closing checklists
- Assist team members in other areas of the store when needed: cleaning, manage register, washing dishes, and busing tables
- Complete other duties that are assigned by management

- An understanding of different flours, ingredients, special diets and allergies a plus
Qualifications:
- Maintains high standards for work areas and appearance
- Ability to work a flexible schedule helpful
- Must comply with any dress code requirements
- Must be able to work weekends and some holidays
- Must have valid food handler’s permit
- Reliable transportation to work
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work standing & walking for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability to complete various additional tasks (i.e. sweeping floors, moving equipment)
- Required to handle food and hot beverages
Salary:
- $15 / hour (kitchen team also receives a % of tips)
Schedule:
- Flexible
- Part Time / Full Time – morning shifts
- Weekends required and some Holidays required
