Job Summary:
The Packaging Line Associate is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment on the packaging line, ensuring that all products are packaged accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves handling various packaging tasks, performing quality checks, and assisting with troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control: Perform visual and physical quality checks on products and packaging to ensure that they meet company and regulatory standards. Identify and remove defective products and packaging.
  • Product Handling: Load and unload packaging materials, bottles, cans, and other containers onto the packaging line. Ensure the correct materials are used for each production run.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Assist with basic troubleshooting and maintenance of packaging line equipment. Report any equipment malfunctions or quality issues to the supervisor immediately.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with OSHA and company safety protocols. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Complete daily production reports, record downtime, and track product counts. Ensure accurate record-keeping to maintain traceability and compliance.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area, following sanitation and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines. Assist with end-of-shift cleaning tasks.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and assist in meeting production goals. Communicate any issues, delays, or process improvements to the team.

Qualifications:

  • 1 year experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in a food or beverage packaging role.
  • Basic understanding of packaging machinery and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Basic math and reading skills for following instructions and keeping accurate records.
  • Physical ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks involving bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, varying temperatures, and machinery.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, lifting, and moving heavy materials.
