PRIMARY PURPOSE
Manage and oversee student assessment programs, including analyzing data to identify student performance trends, ensuring compliance with state and federal accountability, and supporting school improvement efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Texas Mid-management or other appropriate Texas certificate strongly preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of federal program rules and regulations
- Knowledge of the state testing program and accountability system
- Ability to interpret data
- Ability to use student test data systems
- Ability to develop and implement training to adult learners
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience:
- Three years of experience in student assessment
- Three years of experience with accountability
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and interpret student performance data to guide instructional decisions.
- Prepare and present reports on assessment results to district leadership, school administrators, teachers, and the school board.
- Monitor student achievement trends and identify areas for intervention and improvement.
- Support data-driven decision-making by providing insights into student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
Accountability & Compliance
- Ensure district compliance with state and federal accountability systems (e.g., Texas A-F Accountability Ratings, Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)).
- Submit required reports and data to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and other regulatory bodies.
- Keep the district informed about changes in assessment and accountability policies.
- Develop and implement policies to ensure ethical and accurate data reporting.
School Improvement & Support
- Work with campus leaders and teachers to use assessment data to improve instruction and student learning.
- Provide training on data-driven instruction and intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with curriculum and instruction teams to align assessments with learning goals.
Assessment Management
- Oversee the administration of district-wide assessments, including state-mandated exams (e.g., STAAR in Texas) and local benchmark assessments.
- Support the development of the assessment calendars and ensure testing protocols are followed.
- Train district and campus staff on proper test administration and security procedures.
- Provide support in the implementation and evaluation of formative and summative assessments to measure student achievement and growth.
- Consult with district staff to develop, administer, and interpret acceleration guidelines and procedures.
Budget, Recordkeeping, Reporting, and Inventory
- Complete evaluation and compliance reports as required by federal and state programs.
Policy, Reports, and Law
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required, including mandatory financial reports for federal grants to TEA.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy.
Other
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Attend board meetings. Prepare and present reports related to student performance.
- Maintain confidentiality.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct the work of campus testing coordinators
Supervise and evaluate the Educational Technology Coordinator
