GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB :
Assists with supervision and maintenance of playrooms and teen rooms. Provide activities and play opportunities for patients. Assists with special events and supervises Child Life volunteers. Provides general support in daily tasks of Child Life Department. Is able to provide Child Life services in all areas covered by the Child Life Department. Operates within the Hospital, Mission, Vision and Values.
Education and / or Experience :
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education, child development, or related field is preferred. Knowledge of child development and experience working with children is preferred
AGE-SPECIFIC COMPETENCE :
- Exercising appropriate age-specific communication skills when interacting with customers, patients, and families.
- Exercising appropriate age-specific safety practices when interacting with customers, patients, and families.
- Considers developmental age in approach to child.
- Implements safety measures that are appropriate to developmental age.
- Uses age appropriate equipment and supplies.
- Communicates appropriately with each developmental age group and their family.
