General Purpose of Job:
To perform a variety of patient food service by preparing patient trays and nourishments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
- Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
- Prepares special foods for regular and therapeutic diets as required by following individual patient menus.
- Prepares nourishment for patients as designated on nourishment sheet.
- Assembles prepared food on patient trays during trayline mealtimes
- Ensures all food items for meals and nourishments are prepared according to menu and delivered at appropriate times.
- Delivers carts to patient floors as specified.
- Prepares all “early” and “late” trays as required.
- Takes inventory of all nourishment food items kept in Nourishment Kitchens on each patient floor.
- Cleans refrigerators in Diet Kitchen on a daily basis, removing out-dated items and items not needed for the day’s menu.
- Replenishes beverages and foods needed on trayline.
- Performs special cleaning duties as scheduled.
- Attends all department and hospital in-services as assigned.
- Follows department policies and procedures for age appropriate diets and preparation of food items for patient trayline.
- Completes special cleaning assignments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Food Handlers Permit
