General Service Tire/Lube Automotive
ABOUT US:
Drive Automotive Services operates 40 full-service auto repair locations in 5 states. Our brands are Service Street, Pride Auto Care, Kerry’s Car Care, Aloha Auto Care, Elite Auto Repair, Pioneer Automotive, Cinco and Fulshear Tire and Auto. Our locations specialize in top-of-the-line automotive repair and maintenance for all makes and models. Our company is looking for General Service/ Tire and Lube Automotive with a basic level of experience.
PURPOSE:
The General Service teammate performs a variety of automotive tasks to ensure customer vehicles are serviced safely and promptly, while gaining hands-on experience in automotive maintenance and repair. This developmental role offers opportunities to build skills in the industry, with potential for growth into more advanced automotive positions. Responsibilities include tire installations, oil changes, and other minor repairs, as well as maintaining a clean and organized shop environment. The role requires clear communication with co-workers, and management with a focus on excellent customer service.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Tire Services - Installation, changes and repairs.
- Oil & Lube Services – Oil changes and lubrication, along with minor vehicle repairs.
- Vehicle Inspections – Conduct inspections to identify needed mechanical services.
- Maintenance - Perform scheduled maintenance services as directed by management.
- Communication – Report service needs and updates to management promptly.
- Property Care - Report any damage to company or customer property immediately.
- Shop Maintenance – maintain a clean and organized shop environment, ensuring the area is free from clutter and debris.
- Customer Vehicle Handling - Pick up and drop off customer vehicles when necessary.
- Post-Service Vehicle Care - Vacuums and cleans the windshield of all serviced vehicles.
- Other Duties – Assist with any additional tasks as assigned.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to read and comprehend service/repair manuals and company standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Ability to perform tasks/repairs in a timely fashion.
- Ability to work well independently or in a team environment and take direction when applicable.
- Good communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
- Must have the ability to perform work in a safe manner and adhere to safety policies.
- Must be able to handle pressure and think clearly in all situations.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must be able to work five days a week...Saturdays included.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Tire and lube technician experience a PLUS.
WORK CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT USE:
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to inspect the vehicle to determine repairs needed.
- Good vision to inspect repair work.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
- Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when applicable.
