CDL A Local/Regional Propane Delivery Driver in Bealeton, VA

As an ACE Regional Driver, you will deliver gas grill cylinders to AmeriGas locations using a tractor-trailer truck. In this role, you will load and unload pallets of cylinders at AmeriGas district locations and production facilities. Layovers may occur to comply with DOT regulation hours, and the truck is equipped with a sleeper cab. You will be responsible for achieving delivery and repair objectives and will communicate daily with the ACE Operations Manager regarding work activities. Participation in tank refurbishing may also be required to meet customer needs.

Compensation

• Hourly rate: $26.50
• Average of 40-50 hours weekly
• Overtime pay after 40 hours worked at time and a half
• $5,000 sign-on bonus – $2,500 paid after 90 days and $2,500 paid after 1 year

Home Time, Route, & Schedule

• Home Time: Home every night! (Lay overs are possible to comply with DOT regulation hours and the truck has a sleeper cab available)
• Shift: Day shift schedule; start times vary by location; shifts will be 8 to 12 hours depending on fluctuating needs
• Scheduling requirements year round:
• Committing to a paid rotating on-call schedule to respond to emergencies after hours
• Scheduling requirements during peak season
• Hours can vary during peak season. Can work up to 60 hours a week
• Working 6-day work weeks with 10-hour shifts and paid overtime
• Working weekends and holidays
• Level of Touch: Load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane to specified destinations

• Fleet consists of a variety of vehicles, including medium-and heavy-duty power units with bulk, flatbed, box and curtain trailers.

Responsibilities

As a ACE Regional Driver, you will play a vital role in delivering propane to our customers while ensuring the highest standards of safety and customer service. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Safely operate a propane delivery truck along provided delivery routes
• Filling residential and/or commercial bulk tanks with propane
• Delivering propane cylinders to commercial/industrial customers
• Perform all daily functions in a safe manner by adhering to all federal and state codes and regulations in addition to all AmeriGas Safety and Operations Policies and Procedures
• Consistent use of required Personal Protective Equipment
  
  

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a valid CDL A license
• Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements required
• Must have a minimum of 6 months CDL driving experience with a clean driving record and 150,000 verifiable miles
• Propane industry experience is a plus
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to load/unload 50-pound cylinders (up to 200/day) and pull 75-pound hoses that are 150 feet or more
• Satisfactory completion of a DOT physical, drug test and background check
• Hiring Radius: Drivers must live within 30 miles of Bealeton, VA with no more than a 45-minute commute or be willing to relocate for this position
