What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time Store Manager position at Drive-up Storage?
Drive-Up Storage is looking to hire a full-time self-storage manager for its Norwalk, CT location. While we prefer prior self-storage experience, it is not a requirement, and we would welcome all applicants with prior retail, sales, and/or management experience. Candidates will have the opportunity to eventually rotate between multiple sites, if desired, and grow their responsibilities.
Responsibilities
· As a Full-Time Store Manager you will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the self-storage facility. This will include utilizing sales efforts to lease storage units, as well as marketing the property to increase awareness about current deals and promotions.
· Full-time Storage managers will be required to manage cash and check deposits. Mangers will be expected to monitor and maintain expenses to within budget. Managers will be required to make daily bank deposits (at a bank located a short distance from the property).
· Operational tasks also include following up with tenants with past due accounts, facility unit audits, and conducting auctions on far overdue tenants.
· Managers are also responsible for generating sales leads by keeping up to date on competitors’ current rates, promotions and marketing efforts.
· Managers will also be responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility which includes cleaning storage units, sweeping, mopping, and other general light maintenance duties.

Requirements:
· Exceptional customer service skills a must
· Must be able to workday and some weekend day shifts
· Ability to perform light maintenance and overall property upkeep
· Management experience in a leasing, retail, or operation environment. Self-storage experience is a big plus.
· Previous experience in sales or marketing with a proven ability to generate business and close leads
· Effective verbal and written communication skills
· Must be a “self-starter” and be proactive whenever there is downtime.
· A High School diploma /GED equivalent. College education a plus
· Must be able to stand for several hours at a time and lift 25 lbs.
· Valid driver’s license with access to reliable transportation
· Completion of pre-employment background screening that includes a drug test
· Must be able to work Saturday and/or Sunday shifts

- Experience in assistant manager roles or similar positions is preferred.
