Job Summary:
The Bartender will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages in a timely and professional manner. This role requires an extensive knowledge of high-end spirits, wines, and cocktail techniques, as well as the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, engaging manner. The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills, a passion for mixology, and a deep understanding of the beverage menu.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve high-end cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages according to restaurant standards and guest preferences.
- Create custom cocktails based on guest requests, using high-quality spirits and fresh ingredients.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and stocked bar area, ensuring all tools, glasses, and supplies are readily available for service.
- Continued participation with ongoing trainings for spirits, education, and hospitatlity.
- Offer wine pairings and beverage recommendations based on guest preferences and menu items.
- Interact with guests in a warm, welcoming manner, providing knowledgeable and attentive service.
- Take orders and serve drinks quickly and accurately, ensuring that guests’ needs are met.
- Monitor the consumption of alcohol by guests to ensure responsible drinking and compliance with alcohol service laws.
- Ensure the proper handling and storage of alcohol, including rotating inventory, managing stock levels, and restocking as needed.
- Handle cash and process payments accurately, providing change when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment, following health and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and service staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
- Assist with the development and execution of seasonal cocktails and beverage specials.
- Stay up to date with new trends in mixology and beverage service, continuously expanding knowledge of spirits, wine, and cocktail techniques.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up the bar and cleaning at the end of shifts.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bartender in a high-end restaurant or upscale hospitality setting, preferably specializing in steak and seafood or similar cuisine.
- Extensive knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktail recipes, wine pairing, and spirits.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional and polished appearance, in line with the restaurant’s standards.
- Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
