Job Overview: DRM America is looking for a highly motivated and tech-savvy individual to join our team as a IT Technician (Equipment Repair). In this entry-level position, you will be responsible for assisting with the receiving, inventory management, system diagnosing, and shipping of electronic equipment. You will also be involved in posting listings of refurbished equipment for sale on eBay. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic IT knowledge, an interest in electronics, and experience with eBay or online sales.
We are seeking a self-starter who is capable of taking initiative and working independently. While training will be provided, the ideal candidate should be able to handle tasks with minimal managerial guidance and be proactive in managing their responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Inventory Management:
- Assist in the receiving and inspection of incoming hardware equipment.
- Accurately record and track inventory using company systems.
- Ensure all equipment is labeled and stored properly for easy identification.
System Diagnostics:
- Run basic diagnostics and troubleshooting on received equipment to assess functionality.
- Identify components that need repair, replacement, or refurbishment.
- Document the status of each piece of equipment, including issues identified.
eBay, Craigslist, other platform listings and sales:
- Take high-quality photos and write clear, accurate descriptions for equipment to be listed on eBay.
- Research pricing trends for various types of equipment to ensure competitive pricing.
- Monitor and manage eBay listings, responding to customer inquiries as needed.
Shipping and Packaging:
- Assist with packing and preparing refurbished equipment for shipment.
- Ensure that all shipments are sent out in a timely manner and meet packaging standards to prevent damage.
General Assistance:
- Provide general support to senior technicians and other team members in day-to-day operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Continuously update product listings and inventory records.
Requirements:
- Basic IT Experience: Familiarity with computer hardware and basic troubleshooting skills. Understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS) and software is a plus.
- eBay Experience: Prior experience listing items for sale on eBay or similar online platforms is highly preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately document equipment details, troubleshoot problems, and maintain organized records.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly for interacting with eBay customers and team members.
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortable working with a variety of hardware equipment including computers, networking devices, and electronics.
- Self-Starter: Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision. Must be comfortable handling tasks without needing constant guidance.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move equipment as necessary, including standing and walking for extended periods.
