Summary
As a Horizontal Directions Drill Boring Operator, you will be integral to our construction projects, specializing in horizontal drilling techniques. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, your core skills in heavy equipment operation and excavator handling will be essential for executing drilling tasks safely and efficiently. Your mechanical knowledge and commercial driving experience will enhance your ability to operate various machinery, including loaders and dump trucks. By leveraging your relevant skills in construction and equipment operation, you will contribute significantly to the successful completion of projects while adhering to safety standards and timelines.
Responsibilities
- Operate horizontal drilling equipment to install underground utilities efficiently.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of heavy machinery, including excavators and loaders.
- Collaborate with construction teams on-site to ensure project specifications are met.
- Maintain equipment and perform minor repairs as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Adhere to safety regulations and best practices to promote a safe working environment.
- Document daily operations and report any issues to supervisors promptly.
- We install everything from Copper, Fiber, Sewer, Water lines and setting hand holes.
- YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO OPERATE ONE OR ALL OF THESE MACHINES.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in horizontal drilling operations
- Proficient in heavy equipment operation, including excavators and loaders
- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Valid commercial driving license
- Familiarity with construction site protocols and safety regulations
- Experience operating backhoes, dump trucks, graders, and water trucks
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
We run Ditch Witch equipment, JT 920, JT 2020, JT 2720, JT 60 and JT 100 machines.
You may be required to locate or help operate support equipment when needed.
Wages Depend on Experience.
