DRMP's Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) Division is HIRING, and we're searching for Transportation Technicians/CEI Inspectors (all levels) to join our group around the Raleigh area. *While you'll be assigned to a home office, most of these positions will report directly to the field/project.
The Transportation Technician is responsible for performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include
- A daily documentation of the contractor's work efforts.
- Project field book preparation and documentation.
- Density log book preparation and documentation.
- Material sampling and testing.
- Assisting with preparation of the Final Estimates package.
- Measures distances to verify the accuracy of dimensions of construction activity/layout.
- Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of construction activity/installations.
- Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications.
- Obtains and prepares material samples for laboratory testing.
- Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards and accepts installation.
- Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.
- Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities.
- Receives general instructions regarding assignments and is expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems.
- Assists Senior Inspectors and/or Project Administrator with completion of specific tasks and assists in all phases of the construction project.
- Responsible for preparing backup documentation for progress and final estimates throughout the construction project duration.
- High school graduate with four (4 ) years experience in construction inspection, one (1 ) year of which shall have been in roadway or bridge construction inspection.
- AAS Civil Engineering Technology plus two (2 ) years experience; with at least one (1 ) year roadway construction inspection experience.
- Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
- Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course, and submit the mandatory Certification of Course Completion form (for structures projects).
- Position requires a minimum of 40 hours a week with the possibility of overtime (Hourly).
