This role is in the DroneShield Sydney headquarters in Pyrmont, Sydney. There are approximately 200 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 300 staff by end of 2026. Overseas on the ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Denmark, Germany and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.
About the role
DroneShield is seeking a Product Owner with relevant experience to join the team in Warrenton, Virginia.
The position will report to the Director of Engineering and offers the right candidate an excellent opportunity to grow strategically focused skills within the rapidly developing counter-UAS industry. This role requires very strong organization and communication while collaborating across diverse business areas in the USA and Australia. The Product Owner will work closely with stakeholders to drive development through to delivery of finished products and features that meet the strategic vision and customer requirements.
Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations
- Work directly with DroneShield US CEO, Director of Engineering, and other members of US team to understand strategic objectives and translate them in executable actions for Australian-based engineering teams
- Develop subject matter expertise related to DroneShield products and counter-UAS industry practices
- Collaborate with teams across multiple engineering disciplines to deliver required development
- Represent the DroneShield US strategy in daily Australian-based engineering meetings
- Interface with Australian team members every day using effective communication across email, video calls / meetings, etc.
- Own the decision-making process and outcome for execution of DroneShield US strategy as it applies to product development, documentation, and feature delivery
