General Summary : Clinical Application Specialist (REMOTE OR ON-SITE)

The ideal candidate is a dynamic and customer-focused professional with a strong foundation in clinical laboratory science and experience providing technical support or application guidance for clinical laboratory equipment, ideally within US hospital routine / core or STAT labs. They also possess a unique blend of technical acumen and business development skills, enabling them to deliver effective product demonstrations, troubleshoot technical issues, and support the sales team in driving revenue growth. They are excellent communicators, able to engage with diverse stakeholders, from lab technicians to hospital administrators, and have a proven ability to train and educate users on products. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, is self-motivated, and demonstrates a strong bias for action and problem-solving skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Technical Support & Customer Engagement :
Serve as a subject matter expert for our laboratory products, providing pre-sales and post-sales technical support to hospital lab customers, both on-site and remotely.
Conduct on-site and virtual product demonstrations, application training, and troubleshooting for laboratory personnel, and provide follow-up training and continuous support to ensure competency.Collaborate with customers to identify workflow improvements and customization needs, providing recommendations to increase lab efficiency and effectiveness.Address and resolve technical inquiries and provide voice-of-the-customer (VOC) feedback raised by customers to the commercial and product development teams.Support troubleshooting in partnership with engineers and technical support teams.Sales Support, Customer Engagement and Relationship BuildingWork in partnership with the sales team to identify potential opportunities, recognize and address possible challenges, and drive sales conversions.
Assist sales teams during pre-sale product activities by conducting product demonstrations and evaluations.Act as the main point of contact for customer support, maintaining strong relationships to enhance satisfaction and ensure customer feedback influences product development.Address customer and distributor inquiries and provide timely follow-ups.Represent the company at trade shows, symposiums, and conferences to promote the company and products and provide application knowledge and insights.Help prepare and deliver technical presentations, scientific literature, and marketing collateral tailored to specific customer needs to support sales initiatives.Clinical Knowledge DevelopmentStay current with the latest advancements in clinical applications, workflows, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams to share product intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights.Training & Education :Design and lead customer and distributor sales training sessions on the technical use and application of our products.
Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends, standards, and competitor products to provide strategic guidance and recommendations.Create technical content for internal and external knowledge bases, such as training guides, best practice manuals, and application notes.Preferred Experience :
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)Experience working in a US hospital core or STAT lab is a strong plusFamiliarity with clinical regulatory compliance (e.g., CLIA, CAP, FDA)Qualifications :
To perform the job successfully, the individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position :
Educational Background : Associate degree (BS preferred) in related health science fields.Experience : 1-2 years of experience as a Clinical Application or Technical Support Specialist, or working directly on the bench in a US hospital lab.Technical Expertise : In-depth knowledge of laboratory instruments, processes, and workflows.Sales Acumen : Experience working with sales teams to support pre-sales and post-sales activities, including product evaluations and customer engagement.Communication Skills : Excellent presentation, training, and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse audiences, including lab technicians, scientists, and hospital administrators.Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to analyze complex issues, diagnose problems, and develop practical solutions.Travel : Willingness to travel domestically up to 50% of the time to support customer visits, product demonstrations, and trade shows.Alternate education and experience considered based on individual candidate.Powered by JazzHR
