What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Professional position at Drug Abuse Treatment Association, Inc., (DATA)?
Actively participate in the agency’s performance improvement process to ensure clients are receiving the highest quality of care possible and the agency is in compliance with licensing, accreditation, contractual and legal standards. In collaboration with management and staff, identify areas for improvement and implement quality improvement initiatives that will result in positive change. Position Responsibilities and Standards for Measuring Performance:
The Quality Assurance Professional within Drug Abuse Treatment Association is accountable for the following:
1. Develop and articulate a thorough understanding of agency policies and procedures and applicable laws, guidelines and standards including DCF licensure, CARF accreditation, Medicaid, HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, National School Breakfast, Lunch and Afterschool Snack program, Department of Health inspections, etc.
2. Perform regular and ad hoc reviews of agency documentation (i.e., clinical, human resources, fiscal, compliance, etc.) to ensure quality, fidelity and compliance, and collaborate with staff to implement quality improvement initiatives to address deficiencies when necessary.
3. Prepare written reports of quality improvement activities that include strengths, corrective actions and recommendations to ensure long-term compliance with policies and procedures.
4. Assist in the development, tracking and reporting of qualitative and quantitative outcomes both internally and externally and formulating quality improvement activities utilizing the NIATx Model to address deficiencies.
5. Collaborate with managers and directors to promote staff understanding of licensure, accreditation, privacy & confidentiality standards and agency/program specific policies and procedures. Develop and facilitate trainings on best practices, agency initiatives, etc.
6. Draft new and revised policies, procedures and other documents for senior management review and implementation.
7. Collaborate with senior management, directors and staff in the audit process, including the preparation process, being a knowledgeable representative during the audit, and conducting follow-up at the end of the audit.
8. Assist in the incident and grievance reporting process, including entering and tracking incidents in databases, and conducting root cause investigations and facilitating quality improvement initiatives to ensure the health and safety of clients, guests and staff.
9. Assist with measuring and tracking utilization. Collaborate with program managers and staff to address barriers to maximizing utilization.
10. In collaboration with the senior management team, identify and respond to funding opportunities.
11. Actively serve as the agency’s representative to assigned external committees, task forces, etc.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
13. This position generally reports to the office Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Flexible and/or additional hours may be necessary during audits or significant events.
