Director of Business Development
Location : Remote position based in the Greater Boston area, covering accounts including in the US East Coast and Europe. Up to 50% local travel, 10% overnight travel.
Summary :
Drug Hunter provides biotech and pharmaceutical companies worldwide with a subscription knowledge base that helps R&D professionals discover the medicines of the future. Our team is seeking a Director of Business Development in the Greater Boston area to continue Drug Hunter's rapid expansion and adoption in the heart of the world's biotechnology industry.
This role will be responsible for managing new and existing relationships end-to-end with hundreds of biotech companies, with initial ACVs of $15k-$75k USD / yr. In this role, you will identify, qualify, nurture, close, and onboard new customers and expand business relationships with existing customers.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to effectively teach customers why Drug Hunter is different from any other existing services and why our customers find Drug Hunter so valuable.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prospect within assigned accounts both remotely and through attendance at in-person events to identify and educate ideal customers about the benefits of access to Drug Hunter
- Qualify prospects through effective discovery to understand how Drug Hunter can best provide value
- Organize and facilitate in-person and virtual product demonstrations, site visits, and business development events to showcase Drug Hunter's capabilities and value, in partnership with technical scientist team members
- Successfully close contracts for Drug Hunter through product education, stakeholder alignment, and negotiation, ensuring customer success and fairness across the community
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with members, acting as primary point of contact for assigned accounts to ensure high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and growth
- Keep high-quality records including in CRM, provide regular reporting on account performance, and provide forecasts to senior leadership
- Act as a player-coach in the region, mentoring and providing guidance to business development, sales and sales support team members, sharing best practices and strategies for sales and account management
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, and customer support, to enhance client experience and product satisfaction.
- React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
