The Class A CDL Driver will be responsible for transporting modified storage units to various locations, ensuring timely delivery and pickup.Key responsibilities include :
- Operate and maintain company-owned and leased vehicles
- Complete and turn in daily Pre / Post vehicle inspection reports.
- Complete timecards at beginning and end of each shift and driver's log sheet when required.
- Collect customer signatures, take photos and notes, turn in and complete iPad tasks daily.
- Contact dispatcher when : task is complete, failed delivery, failed pick up, on repo call, before accepting unassigned release or container at depot. No empty return w / o dispatch approval.
- Verify customers invoice / container, inspect container, properly in / out gate the container.
- Secure loads IAW DOT Intermodal standards.
- Walk the delivery location prior to delivery attempt.
- Collect a hold harmless when not operating on firm ground or near buildings.
- Make final judgment call on delivery location and solicit a "B" location if required.
- Properly block the delivered container, ensure proper door operation.
- Wash the Truck and trailer minimum monthly at the commercial truck wash.
- Personally clean truck interior monthly.
- Report truck maintenance issues immediately to dispatch.
- Follow rules requiring the use of Seatbelts and not using cell phones when driving.
- Turn in all DOT inspection forms to dispatch, report violations.
- Report accidents immediately to dispatch, complete an accident report package on scene.
- Report all environmental spills to dispatch immediately.
- Report industry developments including : depot activities, competitor trucking and yard activities, construction opportunities and collect photos when possible.
- Complete online air brake adjustment certification.The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications :
- MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Class A CDL with 2 years minimum verifiable experience. Clean Drivers Abstract. Ability to pass a drug screening.MINIMUM TECHICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Strong verbal skills, Organized, good time management skills, positive attitude even under stress. Good customer service or sales skills. Ability to complete electronic documentation. Ability to start early and work overtime. Ability and willingness to complete online air brake adjusting certification.PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Class A CDL with 4 yrs. of verifiable experience. Experience with PTO and hydraulically operated trailers and rollbacks preferred. Local delivery with mix of Off asphalt experience a plus including roll off trucks, dump trucks, concrete trucks, log trucks, towing or rental equipment delivery.
