Successful applicant, depending on experience, may apprentice in paid position for up to six months. May shadow trained technicians that respond to emergency situations in homes and businesses caused by water, fire, flood, soot, storm, mold, trauma, and other emergency situations.
Employee will be responsible for learning & demostrating proper mitigation techniques, and will be hands-on, working alongside experienced Technicians and Crew Chiefs. Trainee will ultimately be expected to provide excellent quality mitigation by meeting or exceeding accepted industry standards.
Must recognize that they are representatives of the company, and conduct themselves in a professional manner and follow and enforce company policies and procedures. Will learn to ultimately take the lead in dealing with customers while performing mitigation work.
Please note DRY FIRST is a 24/7/365 operation, and ALL Service Department personnel participate in an on-call rotation to support emergencies and ongoing company projects. All personnel are required to report for work during Hurricane Season, as long as roads are deemed safe for travel by local law enforcement. There are NO exceptions. It is "ALL HANDS ON DECK" during peak periods like hurricane aftermaths!

Valid Florida Driver License and a good driving record are REQUIRED.
MUST PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK AND HAVE A GOOD DRIVING RECORD.
Responsibilities:
· Will learn & assist in field mitigation activities including demolition, cleaning, emergency flood service, mold remediation, restorative structural drying, fire & smoke damage cleaning and deodorization, content cleaning, pack out and storage, and various other specialized cleanings.
· Will learn & assist in the proper set-up and monitoring of equipment. Upon completion of jobs, Trainee will learn & assist in picks up, cleans, and returns of all equipment to the shop in a timely fashion.
· Will ensure timely arrival for scheduled appointments with property owners/managers and other parties.
· Will protect customers' property from further damage including, but not limited to, usage of protective shoe covers and floor mats, sealing off containment areas to prevent the spread of dust and other materials, safe removal of furnishings, flooring, walls, etc. On a daily basis, will ensure that tools and materials to be left on-site overnight are organized and placed in a secure location, that trash is removed and that the client’s property is left as clean as possible, always taking due care with clients' properties and belongings.
· Will ensure cleaning and maintenance of tools, equipment, and facilities, including workspaces; dismantling, cleaning, and reassembling field equipment and other similar tasks.
· Will ensure health and safety procedures are strictly followed, including but not limited to, safe lifting of a minimum of 50#, personal protective equipment, and chemical labeling, and job site safety and security.
· Will interact with homeowners, property managers, or other individuals while carrying out job responsibilities. Interactions will be conducted in a courteous and professional manner by uniformed personnel.
· Will proactively will communicate issues, concerns, and problems, that may affect or are affecting, completion of a job to immediate supervisor.
· Will attend periodic training and education development programs whenever available to improve skills, safety, and overall value to the company.
· Will provide after-hours emergency support as part of a rotating on-call emergency team.
· Will perform all other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:
MUST HAVE A CONSISTENTLY POSITIVE ATTITUDE!
MUST ADHERE TO STRICT ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS.
· Experience in the mitigation industry is helpful, but not required.
· High school Diploma or GED.
· An ability to interpret verbal directions and understand job work orders is a must.
· Strong work ethic and ability to finish a task a must.
· Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the mitigation field is a plus.
