Position Summary: 

As a Pack Out Technician at SerClean, you will play a vital role in the restoration process by safely packing, inventorying, transporting, and restoring personal property from clients’ homes or businesses following damage from fire, water, or other disasters. You will be the face of compassion and care during a challenging time for our customers. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Pack-Out Services 

• Carefully remove personal belongings, furniture, and contents from homes or businesses affected by fire, water, or mold damage.
• Wrap, pad, and secure fragile or valuable items to prevent damage during transportation.
• Use inventory software to digitally catalog each item, including descriptions, photos, and condition notes before removal.

Documentation & Inventory 

• Create accurate, detailed inventories of all items removed from the property, noting their condition and location.
• Label boxes and containers with proper identification to ensure traceability and easy return to the customer.
• Maintain organized records for insurance claims and internal tracking.

Transport & Storage 

• Load and unload packed items into company vehicles with care and efficiency.

• Deliver items to the SerClean warehouse for storage and/or restoration.
• Maintain cleanliness and security of contents storage areas, ensuring items are preserved and protected during their stay.

Contents Cleaning & Restoration 

• Assist with the cleaning, deodorizing, and restoration of soft and hard goods (e.g., clothing, electronics, furniture, decor).
• Use specialized cleaning techniques and equipment to remove smoke residue, water stains, mold spores, and other contaminants.

Customer Interaction 

• Communicate clearly and compassionately with customers during stressful situations, explaining the pack-out process and answering questions.
• Treat clients’ belongings and homes with respect and care as if they were your own.

Teamwork & Field Support 

• Coordinate with project managers and technicians to align pack-out efforts with mitigation and restoration schedules.
• Assist with on-site restoration tasks when necessary, including moving furniture, removing debris, or setting up containment zones.

Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance 

• Operate company vehicles safely and ensure regular inspections and maintenance are performed.
• Clean and maintain tools, packing materials, and protective equipment used during jobs.

Safety & Compliance 

• Follow all OSHA safety guidelines and SerClean policies for handling contaminated or hazardous materials.
• Wear proper PPE at all times and report any unsafe conditions immediately.

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in restoration, moving, warehousing, or related fields is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor, including bending and standing for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and professional appearance.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
