Overview
PM Shift Lead
A Shift Lead at Drybar plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the salon during their designated shifts. This position involves overseeing daily activities, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of client service. Key responsibilities include:
- Client Experience Management: Oversee the client journey from check-in to check-out, ensuring adherence to Drybar's service standards and creating a memorable experience for each client.
- Team Leadership: Delegate tasks to both bartenders and stylists to support cleanliness and efficiency in the shop.
- Inventory Oversight: Regularly monitor back bar and retail supplies. Assist with stocking products, tools, and supplies, and support inventory management under the direction of the Shop Manager & Assistant Manager
- Staff Training: Train new front desk team members (bartenders) to ensure they are well-versed in Drybar's procedures and customer service expectations.
Here’s how the Shift Lead helps with stylist support:
- Stylist Coordination: The Shift Lead is responsible for ensuring stylists are assigned clients effectively, based on their expertise and availability, to maintain efficiency during busy shifts.
- Providing Feedback and Guidance: The Shift Lead offers constructive feedback to stylists, ensuring that each team member follows Drybar's standards for styling techniques and client interactions. This may involve offering guidance on improving skills, handling difficult clients, or achieving styling consistency.
- Problem-Solving: In situations where a stylist encounters challenges, such as a complex client request,the Shift Lead steps in to resolve the issue quickly, supporting the stylist with solutions and ensuring minimal disruption to the workflow.
- Motivating Stylists: As a team leader, the Shift Lead helps maintain positive morale by encouraging stylists, recognizing excellent work, and promoting a productive and cooperative salon environment.
- Stylists’ Training Support: While the Shift Lead isn’t directly responsible for formal stylist training, they play a supporting role by ensuring that stylists are up-to-date on Drybar’s procedures, product usage, and any new techniques or tools introduced.
This stylist support ensures that both stylists and clients have the best experience during their time at Drybar.
The above responsibilities are to be performed while the shift lead takes their own clients and has an open book.
A PM Shift Lead is expected to work a closing shift (2pm-8pm, minimum) at least 4 days per week, with Fridays and Saturdays being required.

- A current and valid cosmetology license for the state in which you are applying
- Amazing hair styling and finishing skills

- Ability to work with and be a part of a team.
