Water Restoration Crew Chief
Location: Hillsborough, NJ
Department: Water Restoration
Reports To: Production Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
On-Call Requirement: Must be able to respond to calls within 30 minutes of Hillsborough, NJ

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Water Restoration Crew Chief to lead our on-site mitigation efforts. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about helping people recover from property damage. The Crew Chief oversees daily field operations, manages technicians, ensures job quality, and serves as a point of contact for clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities

Lead Field Operations: Supervise and direct restoration technicians on water damage mitigation projects; delegate tasks and ensure job timelines are met.

Perform Mitigation Services: Oversee and participate in water extraction, structural drying, dehumidification, and demolition.

Damage Assessment & Reporting: Conduct on-site assessments; document damages with detailed notes, moisture readings, and photos for job tracking and insurance purposes.

Customer Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for clients on-site. Provide updates, explain processes, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Equipment Oversight: Coordinate and manage the use of extraction tools, dehumidifiers, and air movers; ensure proper maintenance and operation.

Ensure Safety & Compliance: Enforce company policies, OSHA standards, and proper use of PPE and restoration procedures.

Training & Development: Mentor and train team members on equipment use, safety protocols, and best practices.

Quality Control: Conduct post-service inspections to ensure all work meets company standards and customer expectations.

Inventory Management: Monitor and manage restoration equipment and supply inventory for job readiness.

Communication & Reporting: Provide progress updates and reports to the Production Manager, identifying any challenges or project deviations.
Required Qualifications

3–5 years of experience in water damage restoration, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- IICRC Certification (WRT required; ASD preferred or willingness to obtain).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Technical proficiency with restoration equipment and job documentation tools.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Availability for day/evening/night shifts, including on-call duty.
