Overview:
The Coil Driver operates a powered industrial truck to receive, unload, store, retrieve, move and place materials. The Coil Driver ensures that all equipment is in working order for maximum operating efficiency. Ensures quality product is received by performing quality checks.
Essential Functions (Duties):
Performs daily inspection on coil truck, Up enders and other tools and machinery.
Documents any issues with equipment and seeks resolution to those issues.
Ensures production lines have steel coils of the appropriate size and manufacturer available for use.
Unloads, receives and documents raw material shipments.
Uses forklift to restock, move, store, retrieve and deliver raw materials.
Unwraps, breaks down and separates raw materials from shipping wrapping and containers.
Maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
Follows through and completes all work in a timely manner.
Communicates need for and helps maintain appropriate levels of maintenance supplies.
Ensures compliance with OSHA and other federal, state, local and customer guidelines.
Works efficiently and safely within company guidelines.
Maintains peer relationships to share issues and ideas.
Fills in for Forklift Driver / Palletizer Operators when needed,
Loads raw material, returns, and finished goods onto trucks and trailers.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma, General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent.
Experience: Previous fork lift driving experience, education, or training preferred.

Must be able to read, analyze and interpret written communications. Must possess ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and fellow employees. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide with the ability to solve practical problems. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, hand signaled or schedule formats.
Employees in all production positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement or approach of equipment (including forklifts, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks and other equipment operated inside or outside the facility), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situation during production operations.

Ability to be licensed to drive a Powered Industrial Truck.
