SUMMARY
Working at SLWM distribution center reporting to Warehouse Lead, Supervisor or Site Director, working with a team of approximately 30-50 teammates, this individual will be responsible for performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in product, matching product to sales orders for processing.
- Read delivery tickets or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
- Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for customer and employee traffic.
- Assemble client orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
- Open skids, crates and other containers
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program
- Assist in counting of physical inventory
- Weigh and count items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
- May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed
- Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments
- Prepare parcels for mailing
- Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
- Loading and unloading items from vehicle.
- Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients.
- Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
- Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
- Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
- Operating equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
- Sweep, dust and mop.
- Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
- Wear the proper safety equipment, professional conduct and attire required.
- Comply to company policies and procedures for individual and team safety.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years Warehouse and Shipping experience; 1-2 years forklift driver experience with fall protection and other material handling equipment.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written, for safety and inventory management requirements.
- Physical Requirements: The Warehouse Associate must be able to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time, and operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
This position requires proof of US Citizenship to comply with federal contracting regulation. Offer contingent upon successful completion of background and drug screen per federal subcontractor requirements.
