What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Driver position at DS Smith Vineland?
Operate a Forklift to load/unload trailers and transport materials and finished goods to various warehouse areas.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow all plant and safety standards including wearing proper PPE and LOTOTO procedures
Loading and unloading of trailers
Careful handling of finished goods
Managing shipping and receiving work site
Managing onsite storage and warehouse locations
Tie off bales of scrap and unload baler
Weighing of scrap and inputting into weighing station
Read and interpret Vender Bill of Lading
Read daily truck lineups maintain good housekeeping
All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Must follow all plant rules including wearing PPE at all times
Must have 1 year of experience with a sit-down LPG forklift
Must follow all LOTOTO procedures including the use of Glad Hand Locks
Basic reasoning, Math, reading, and maintenance skills
Must be dependable and report to work on time for shift start as scheduled
Must be able to handle product on/off pallets, understand pallet tag differences and special handling instructions
Be able to understand customer specific shipping instructions
Comfortable communicating non-conformities, health and safety concerns
Able to lift, bend, twist, pull and push up to 25 lbs. repeatedly
Able to sit for most of the shift, and be able to step into/ off of forklift
Work Environment:
Noise level fluctuates and can be loud at times (ear plugs are provided)
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and equipment site-wide
Frequently exposed to various temperatures such as humidity, heat
