What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Scheduler/Planner position at DS Smith?
Role Overview:
Responsible for the Planning/Scheduling of machines to manufacture corrugated display boxes.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Must comply and support all applicable GMPs, Site Security, and Food Packaging Defense requirements that are referenced in the facilities GFSI food packaging safety program.
- To plan or schedule all converting machines in the most effective way possible.
- Coordinate customer service needs to the production side of the plant.
- Distribute and review machine backlog everyday in the Production Meeting.
- Keep all machines supplied with work at all times.
- Running the Corrugator Trim and Corrugator Link programs and keeping them up-to-date with the current roll stock supply.
- Keep track of all orders moving through the plant.
- Rescheduling make-up orders as needed.
- Alert customer service with possible problems on orders prior to due date.
- Inventory finished goods at the end of each month.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Certifications
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
