Supervisor, Converting

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must comply and support all applicable GMPs, Site Security, and Food Packaging Defense requirements that are referenced in the facilities GFSI food packaging safety program.
• Other duties as assigned by any member of management.
• Lead department in meeting and exceeding productivity and quality standards
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Promote a success-driven culture of caring and pride across the department and the plant.
• Manage employee performance, including regular monitoring and feedback, coaching, and disciplinary action.
• Assist in new hire orientation and training, including cross-training within the department.
• Plan work effectively and coordinate with other departments to minimize downtime and waste.
• Communicate with maintenance department to facilitate safe and efficient operation of all equipment.
• Participate in meetings and initiatives on a plant level.
• Manage employee timecards, time off requests, and other payroll-related items.
• Submit timely and thorough reports relative to department and plant activities.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the corrugated or packaging industries
• A minimum of 3 years in a lead or supervisory role
• Basic computer proficiency
• Knowledge of packaging-specific platforms is a plus.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, motivate and direct employees.

Work Environment:

• Regular work near moving mechanical parts.
• Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and temperature variations
• Noise level is moderate to high.
• Bump caps, ear protection, eye protection, and safety shoes are required.
