Location:Columbia, SC (On-site, Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM, and after hours as needed)

Overview

The Linux Security Engineer will be responsible for supporting clients in developing and implementing security measures, monitoring network traffic, and maintaining secure Linux-based systems. This role involves managing various security tools, deploying operating systems, and ensuring network security through best practices.

Linux Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support customers in developing and implementing security policies
• Provide security engineering and integration services
• Develop detailed technical project documentation
• Analyze and resolve security-related issues
• Design and implement IDS/IPS solutions
• Deploy new network traffic monitoring sensors
• Install, configure, and support security tools
• Recommend improvements for cybersecurity systems
• Deploy FireEye HX EDR agents and integrate with other security tools
• Conduct vulnerability scans and dynamic analysis
  
  

Requirements / Qualifications

• 10 years of experience
• Proficiency with IT security technologies (Snort, SourceFire, Firepower)
• Experience with RockyLinux/CentOS/Redhat/Oracle OS
• Experience in administering Snort IDS sensors
• Proficient in scripting languages (Python/Ansible preferred)
• Experience with security tools and Linux troubleshooting
• Knowledge of routers, switches, VLANs, and VPN configuration
• Experience with SOC tools (log collectors, EDRs)
