Overview

The Sr. Java Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance applications within Mastercard’s technology ecosystem. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies, ensuring system reliability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive software excellence.

Full-Time, Onsite

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based applications using J2EE technologies.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive end-to-end development and optimize system performance.
• Conduct code reviews, build test strategies, and support operational issues.
• Apply modern software design principles such as SOLID, DRY, and Single Responsibility.
• Utilize technologies such as PCF, NiFi, NATS, Kafka, Zookeeper, Splunk, Redis, Cassandra, and Oracle.
• Write complex SQL queries and optimize database interactions.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 8 years of experience in Java (J2EE) development.
• Expertise in building and consuming REST APIs and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle DB and cloud-native solutions (AWS or Azure preferred).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and messaging frameworks like Kafka and NATS.
• Experience with containerization and cloud platforms such as PCF.
• Proficiency in performance tuning, debugging, and troubleshooting applications.
  
  

Additional Information

• Must be able to work onsite from Day 1 in O’Fallon, MO
• Experience in financial or payment processing industries is a plus
