Join our team as a Dietitian at our newest behavioral health treatment campus, Maple Lane, near Centralia, WA.
Behavioral Health Treatment Center Maple Lane offers innovative treatment for residents who are civilly committed, in need of competency restoration, or adjudicated not guilty by reason of mental diagnosis. Each residential unit helps shape the future of behavioral health, aligning with Washington State’s vision of community-based care. Treating residents in smaller facilities help them stay closer to home, family, and support systems, fostering stronger community connections.
As a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist you will use your clinical nutrition skills to impact our community, This job performs professional-level nutrition assessments, counseling, and education and provides medical nutritional therapy. This role is great for entry level dietitians with an interest in the care for people diagnosed with behavioral health conditions. You will have the opportunity to learn from a multidisciplinary team and will be presented with a variety of dietary needs.
Maple Lane is a key business unit of DSHS's Behavioral Health Administration, where our dedicated staff offers residents enriching opportunities and experiences outside the hospital setting, preparing them for a smooth transition back into the community. This is a great opportunity to be a team member as BHA modernizes and enhances behavioral health treatment in Washington State.
Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
Some of what you will do
- Perform nutrition assessments, develop interventions, monitor and evaluate progress and goals for residents
- Participate and collaborate in an interdisciplinary team and care management meetings
- Coordinate with professional staff, care team, food service, and supply personnel to design and implement interventions including therapeutic diet orders, oral supplements, and enteral nutrition orders
- Develop education materials and training content for staff and residents
- Create or adapt specialized menus to fit varied and individualized resident needs
- Evaluate and monitor nutritional status and update plans of care
- Participate in quality assurance process; assist in development of facility processes to promote safe and effective foodservice delivery
- Maintain relevant electronic records
Who should apply
- Professionals with a bachelor's or master's degree involving major study in food and nutrition or dietetics
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) as credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, by time of hire
- Knowledge of therapeutic diet planning, preparation and serving of specialized diets, food safety, institutional food service, and educational approaches is beneficial
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with Protected Health Information
- Knowledge of principles of medical nutrition therapy is a plus

Pay: $55,584.00 - $74,724.00 per year
