We develop the EFDC Explorer Modeling System (EEMS), a commercial software suite used for modeling hydrodynamics, sediment transport, chemical fate & transport, and eutrophication. Our ideal candidate will contribute by developing and undertaking projects and providing engineering and hydrodynamic expertise. In this role, you will contribute to water and environmental engineering projects including water quality, contaminant fate and transport, and aquatic geochemistry.

Job duties for our new Water Resource Engineer may include :
Managing, planning, and conducting hydrodynamic studies in rivers, streams, lakes, reservoirs, estuary and coastal environmentsCoastal and inland hydrologic and hydraulic data collection and analysis including USACE Sediment flume (Sed flume) and Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) studies, wave, water level and current measurements, shoreline surveys, instrument deployment and discharge measurementsSediment transport studies and modelingWater management studiesFlood analysisWater quality modelingHydrologic studies and modelingHydraulic studies and modelingComprehensive watershed management plan developmentStatistical analysis and information managementGIS developmentComputer programming for developing modeling tools and data analysisDatabase design and development and application of water quality modeling studies.Provide technical support for environmental remediation or litigation projects.Review and evaluate documents of remedial investigation, feasibility study, and / or litigation.Cooperate with clients and specialists to address environmental problems.Contributes to the preparation of technical reports, memorandums, and presentations.Conduct data analysis, management, transformation, quality control, and / or statistical analyses using open-source programming language (i.e., Matlab, Python, R, C# or VB).We are looking for someone who is :

Master’s or higher of Civil or Environmental degree2 years’ experience working on hydrodynamic and / or water resource projects2 years’ experience using Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code (EFDC)4 years combined experience with appropriate software / programs, EFDC_Explorer, Delft3D, ECOMSED, CH3D, TABS, MIKE11 / MIKE21, HEC-6, GSTARS, AGNPS, WASP 7.3, QUAL2E, CE-QUAL-W2, CE-QUAL-RIV, HEC-HMS, TR20, SWMM, ICPR, HSPF, AGNPS, HEC-RAS, FESWMS. In addition, familiarity with GIS and CAD tools such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and MapInfo.Excellent technical & presentation skillsEnglish language fluencyConsultancy background desirable however not essentialFull proficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsProficient computer skillsMust have the interest in and ability to learn new software, programs, and systemsReady to join the team!?
