Position Summary
The Senior Network Engineer at DSI Tech plays a vital role in supporting clients' wireless network solutions. They are responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting LAN and Cisco Wireless infrastructures for all assigned clients. This position involves providing high-level technical support for wireless and data network systems, creating and managing network documentation, and participating in projects to upgrade communication equipment and processes as needed.
Excellent customer service skills and problem management abilities are essential for success in this role. Employees may be required to travel to customer locations for fieldwork, which may occur after hours and on weekends. Annual travel to client sites could amount to up to 75%.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform remote and on-site client consultation to plan, design, implement, and support wireless infrastructure
- Develop and implement the technical architecture and physical design of the network by analyzing existing wireless and data networks and recommending solutions
- Set up, configure, and test Cisco wireless solutions
- Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware / software problems
- Assist Account Executives during the sales process by educating the customer about new technologies
- Act as a Cisco Subject Matter Expert to customers and internal staff
- Maintain CCIE and other certifications required for Cisco Gold and Master compliance.
- Keep up to date on the latest developments in Wireless and wireless security technologies through forums, blogs, and community
- Assist in project management
- Ensure a stable performance environment for enterprise computer applications
- Must be comfortable working in a demanding environment where client satisfaction is our goal
- Direct the work of other technical team members and subcontractors
- Work with minimal supervision by senior management
- Knowledge transfer and working well within a team are essential for success
Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge
Physical requirements
The job requires the employee to sit for extended periods, as well as to stand, walk, climb ladders, carry equipment, bend, kneel, crawl, reach, push, and pull. Additionally, the employee must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs on a daily basis.
