Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision:
- Direct a team of 13 electricians and instrumentation technicians, ensuring they complete their tasks efficiently and safely.
- Manage and oversee training programs for electrical and instrumentation teams, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge.
Operational Support & Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with the operations team to provide technical support and maintenance engineering services, driving improvements to existing processes and procedures.
- Evaluate and improve equipment performance through targeted maintenance activities, optimizing operational uptime while minimizing downtime.
Plant Equipment Reliability & Maintenance:
- Balance operational, maintenance, and engineering activities to ensure long-term reliability and availability of plant electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Oversee and maintain electrical equipment, general building wiring, motors, drives, control systems, and power distribution.
- Lead the maintenance of DCS, PLC, and other control equipment, guaranteeing continuous operation without failure.
Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis:
- Analyze and resolve equipment and process issues using systematized methods and corrective actions.
- Participate in or lead RCFA, implementing remedies to prevent future failures.
Capital & Expense Project Support:
- Contribute to capital and expense projects, ensuring maintenance considerations like reliability, standardization, and quality are integrated into the project design and execution.
Preventative Maintenance & Training Programs:
- Establish, implement, and supervise electrical and instrumentation preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Develop training programs for electricians and instrumentation technicians, enhancing their skills and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Compliance & Safety:
- Maintain adherence to safety protocols, industry standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA), and company policies, promoting a secure work environment for all staff.
- Monitor plant conditions to avoid equipment failure, ensuring proper care is given to all systems.
General Management Duties:
- Coordinate maintenance activities to optimize resource allocation and ensure timely task completion.
- Effectively communicate with various levels of employees, management, production teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
Background:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance, preferably with supervisory experience managing technical staff (10 employees).
- Demonstrated expertise in motors, drives, PLCs, control systems, and instrumentation.
Skills:
- Deep understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, PLCs, control loops, and control networks.
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA).
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex electrical and instrumentation systems, taking corrective actions as needed.
