This role will help oversee the quality assurance department with a leading pet food manufacturing company!
Responsibilities:
- Supervise Quality Control (QC) personnel, conduct audits and inspections, and ensure strict adherence to established quality standards for products and processes.
- Implement Quality Procedures: Ensure rigorous compliance with quality control procedures and identify areas for potential enhancement.
- Conduct Audits: Execute comprehensive audits of processes and procedures to verify adherence to quality standards.
- Provide Training: Instruct QC staff on advanced quality control practices and procedures.
- Maintain Documentation: Accurately document quality control activities and prepare detailed reports for management review.
- Coordinate Corrective Actions: Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Monitor Supplier Quality: Assist in the evaluation and continuous monitoring of supplier quality to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Apply Industry Expertise: Leverage extensive knowledge of animal nutrition and the pet food industry to ensure products meet specific industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain Lab Soft & TraceGains Systems: Oversee the maintenance and functionality of Lab Soft and TraceGains systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field - Chemistry, Quality, Food Science preferred
- 3 years of experience in food and beverage (or heavy regulated environment)
- 5 years of quaity assurance experience
- Proficient in leadership and employee management
- Attention to detail and knowledge of quality management systems
- Quality certifications preferred - Six Sigma, ISO 9001, or ASQ a plus
