We are supporting a fast-growing IPP specializing in utility-scale renewable energy is seeking an experienced Senior Director/Director of Procurement to lead procurement operations across its North American portfolio. The organization focuses on the development, construction, and operation of utility-scale solar, high-voltage substations, and advanced battery energy storage systems (BESS), all designed to support the transition to clean energy.
This position is critical to driving procurement strategies that support rapid growth, operational excellence, and project delivery. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in renewable energy supply chains, strong industry relationships, and a proven ability to manage procurement across multiple high-value projects.
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company growth objectives, cost targets, and project schedules.
Lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement of project-critical materials and services, including PV modules, battery systems, substation equipment, and EPC services.
Manage vendor selection, contract negotiation, and execution to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with global and domestic suppliers to secure favorable pricing and performance.
Collaborate closely with development, engineering, finance, legal, and construction teams to support project success.
Oversee RFP processes, supplier performance tracking, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.
Manage inventory planning and logistics to ensure timely equipment delivery to project sites.
Ensure adherence to corporate procurement policies, trade compliance, ESG goals, and safety standards.
Mentor and lead a growing procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Support standardization of equipment and drive cost savings through strategic sourcing initiatives.
Provide regular reporting and updates on procurement status and risks to senior leadership.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
10 years of procurement experience within the energy, construction, or renewable energy sectors, with 5 years in a leadership capacity.
Proven track record in procurement for utility-scale solar, BESS, or substation infrastructure.
Strong understanding of EPC contracts, global supply agreements, Incoterms, and international logistics.
Excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
In-depth knowledge of global supply chain risks and mitigation strategies.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with shifting priorities.
Experience working for an Independent Power Producer (IPP) or EPC contractor in the renewable energy industry.
Familiarity with international trade regulations, import/export compliance, and duties related to solar and BESS components.
Salary : $180,000 - $220,000
