Strategic Buyer - Logistics
Job Description:
A rapidly growing manufacturing company dedicated to innovation and excellence is looking for a motivated and experienced individual to fill their Strategic Buyer position in New Bern, NC. You will be joining an expanding team that is passionate about delivering high-quality products and services to their clients and also LTL and TL focused, with a scope that covers the whole US. You will be tasked to source and procure indirect services for their transportation, manage supplier relationships, be involved in contract negotiations, and be effective in cost-savings.
Strategic Buyer Responsibilities:
- Purchase materials, supplies, services at most favorable, sustainable, flexible and feasible terms.
- Initiate best cost country and localization initiatives, supporting cost benefit.
- Conduct capacity check activities to ensure availability of technical capacity allocated at local suppliers.
- Perform market research, scouting suppliers, new technologies.
- Support and execute material group strategies and tailor supplier portfolio to the organization's requirements, short and mid-term.
Strategic Buyer Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (Technical or Business Field)
- 5-7 Years of Experience (Procurement, or Supply Chain)
- Advanced negotiating skills
- Have an annual spend responsibility of at least $20 Million for more than 1 factory
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications
- SAP Knowledge
- Travel Percentage – 30%
