Job Overview:
As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, and aligning sourcing strategies with the company's long-term objectives. You will lead efforts in inventory management, strategic negotiations, and forecasting to ensure a seamless supply chain and optimal business performance, with a focus on categories such as fabrication, electric motors, and castings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key categories, including fabrication, electric motors, and castings, that align with business objectives and drive cost savings across multiple categories.
- Lead end-to-end supplier selection processes, from identifying potential suppliers to contract negotiation and performance management.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term supplier relationships to ensure supply continuity and quality standards within the fabrication, electric motor, and casting categories.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., finance, operations, product development) to understand needs and requirements, and align sourcing strategies accordingly.
- Conduct market research and analyze trends in fabrication, electric motors, and castings to identify opportunities for cost reduction, supply chain improvements, and quality enhancements.
- Oversee inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels of critical components in fabrication, electric motors, and casting categories and minimize excess or shortage risks.
- Lead strategy talks with key stakeholders to determine the best sourcing approaches for current and future needs.
- Work on forecasting demand for components like fabrication parts, electric motors, and castings and align sourcing strategies accordingly to avoid supply chain disruptions and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor supplier performance, manage risk mitigation strategies, and resolve any issues that arise to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Prepare and present regular reports on sourcing activities, cost savings, inventory levels, and supplier performance within the fabrication, electric motor, and casting categories to senior leadership.
- Stay up to date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory changes related to fabrication, electric motors, and castings to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Proven experience (5 years) in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the automotive industry or a related field.
- Strong strategic negotiation skills, with experience in leading high-value, complex negotiations.
- Automotive industry experience is highly preferred, with a deep understanding of automotive supply chains, materials, and sourcing challenges.
- Solid experience in sourcing and managing categories such as fabrication, electric motors, and castings.
- Experience with SAP software and other procurement/supply chain tools to drive efficiency in sourcing and inventory management.
- Solid experience in inventory management, demand forecasting, and managing the balance between supply and demand.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions and solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
