Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on U.S. and Canadian Customs requirements to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of corporate compliance policies, internal controls, and training programs to ensure alignment with national regulations.
- Identify and implement Customs programs and duty-saving opportunities to drive cost efficiencies and enhance profitability across North American operations.
- Represent the company in interactions with U.S. and Canadian authorities and direct legal strategies involving trade tribunals and courts.
- Oversee Customs audit preparation and response, ensuring all internal processes, goods flows, and financial transactions are audit-ready and compliant.
- Manage tariff classification, country of origin determinations, and third-party customs brokers to ensure accurate, efficient import/export operations.

- A BS/MS degree in Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field, with strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian customs laws, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- 8–10 years of hands-on international experience managing import/export operations and compliance programs within a high-volume, multinational environment.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply customs regulations, including experience working with U.S. and Canadian agencies such as CBP, FDA, USDA, CBSA, CFIA, and CITT.
- Familiarity with customs litigation processes and legal procedures, including interactions with the U.S. Court of International Trade and the Canadian International Trade Tribunal.
- Experience presenting compliance findings, cost-saving strategies, and regulatory risks to senior leadership, as well as working with external customs legal counsel.
- Working knowledge of C-TPAT, WTO/WCO standards, and a basic understanding of chemical compositions to support accurate tariff classification and regulatory decisions.
