As a Lead Technician, ING App Labs, you will support and influence our North America and Global applications projects by performing a variety of application tasks as required by our North America Sales, Marketing, and Sales team. The Lead Technician is a research professional with knowledge of experiments design within our food and beverage division and has technical and operational lab skills that can be easily adapted to perform several simultaneous projects.

Your key responsibilities
- Participate and take ownership of numerous applications projects under the guidance of Lab or Technical Manager. Take ownership of more complicated projects including design of experiments.
- Manage day-to-day lab functions such as equipment calibration and maintenance, cleanliness, and organization, ordering existing and new ingredients, data collection and reporting.
- Work within organization to secure POs for equipment and maintenance, outside copacker etc. Coordinate equipment technicians’ on-site visits and communicate any findings.
- Support Team in developing and producing prototypes for customer meetings, trade shows and internal meeting. Offer creativity in developing unique and compelling prototypes to showcase DSM ingredients.
- Conduct stability/shelf-life studies including sensory evaluation of ingredients, prototypes, innovation formulations and customer troubleshooting. Capture results, conclusions and next steps and complete reports.

You bring
- BS or MS in Food Science, chemical engineering, or related sciences
- Formulation experience including design of experiments
- Hands on beverage and food product development
- Familiarity with food ingredients and basic regulatory guidelines
- Competent with a broad range of physical testing (TA, pH, Hunter LAB, etc.)
- Competent in executing shelf life experiments and drawing conclusions/next steps
