We are seeking a highly driven and inquisitive individual to participate in a cutting-edge cell biology research program in the Chemical Senses in New York City. The successful candidate will support a project exploring the signal transduction pathway involved in olfaction.

Our standard working hours are Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Your key responsibilities

  • Prepare DNA from bacterial cell culture
  • Perform cell-based experiments in mammalian cell lines
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data
  • Participate in lab meetings and discussions to inform future experimental design
  • Maintain concise and accurate laboratory records
  • Maintain high safety standards within the lab

You bring

  • Currently working on completion of a Bachelor's degree in related field (biology, chemistry, biochemistry, and math) and have completed at least two full years of undergraduate studies or graduate school prior to the start of the internship
  • Candidates must be available to work full-time (37.5 hours/week) for 12 weeks beginning on June 3, 2024 - August 23, 2024
  • Basic molecular and cellular biology skills (sterile tissue culture experience a plus)
  • Spreadsheet and word processing efficiency
  • Enthusiastic and intellectually curious individuals
  • Individuals who are highly organized and team and solution focused
