Position requires travel, typically between 35 - 50%, to support projects or staff.

Advanced electrical services group. Electric power division
Role:
Automation Engineer or Controls engineer, Industrial controls not embedded engineer. Power systems engineer work on water treatment facilities, data power centers, hospitals etc. Design to programming to installation. Work with different teams in Cat. Technical project lead for Cat. Onsite looking at obsolete systems. Figurw what the component and issue are. Lead field services engineer. Retrofit. Support from design low and medium voltage switch gear
Switch gear background not needed but electrical product background is needed. PLC programming is highly required. There will be a bit of training
Top skills:
Ability to write PLC codes is most important skill. PLC Understanding PLCs Allen Bradley. Know how to write from scratch for new product lines. Functional text and block diagrams

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
The Power Systems Engineer designs, modifies, develops, writes, and implements software-programming for generator control switchgear applications. Relies on various instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Work is often completed independently but may be completed under supervision or verified at completion.
Typical task breakdown:
Identify retrofit opportunities, scope projects, and support proposal creation via Dealer and Factory teams
Perform technical risk management for field performance of assigned projects.
Convert legacy PLC projects to new platforms and validate for accuracy.
Execute and support design, test, manufacture and commissioning of low and medium voltage switchgear controls retrofits for systems that control multiple generators which parallel to one or more utility sources.
Provide direction to CAD designers to create wiring and assembly drawings for generator paralleling controls.
Utilize templates or modify PLC programs for control of generator paralleling switchgear.
Modify template HMI programs to coincide with project-specific PLC programs.
Provide Engineering/Technical support to AES (Advanced Electrical Services) Sales Group.
Submit daily project reports and expenses in a timely manner.
Assist the Product Support Center help desk to resolve customer issues that cannot be handled locally.
As needed, assists or trains technicians, and both internal and external customers, in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of equipment under contract with Client Switchgear.
