Summary

 

The I.T. Support Specialist 2 provides knowledge and technical skills to support our organization's IT systems and networks.

 

The I.T. Support Specialist 2  will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our technology infrastructure, resolving technical issues, and proactively monitoring and improving system performance and security.

 

 

Essential Functions

1.     Prompt and regular in-person attendance.

2.     Coordinates and/or performs additions and changes to system hardware and attached devices; includes configuration, installation and testing of new system hardware and software.

3.     Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware, manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure, provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues in a timely manner

4.     Test and update systems at industry standard intervals.

5.     Troubleshoot at the physical level, working with electronic measurement hardware, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices, at the logical level working with communication protocols.

6.     Provides technical consultation, training and support as designated by manager.

7.     Produces technical documentation regarding the configuration, testing and use of systems.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm but may be modified by management. Infrequent evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

 

Travel

 

Travel to other customer sites within the continental United States may be required, with occasional OCONUS travel to be expected.

 

Required Education and Experience

1.     1 or 2 years verifiable I.T. experience.

2.     Intermediate level knowledge of PCs, network hardware, operating systems and software. 

3.     Tier 1 support, A , Net .

 

Preferred Education and Experience

1.     Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems.

2.     Expert level knowledge of IT Infrastructure and Security.

3.     Tier 2 support, A ,Net ,Sec .

 

Other Hiring Requirements 

1.     Valid Driver’s License.

2.     U.S. Citizenship.

3.     Must hold or be able to obtain a DOD Top Secret level clearance (at minimum).

4.     Must be able to obtain a passport.

5.     Must pass a DOT/FAA regulated drug screening.
