DT-Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated travel nurse to join their team as a Perioperative Nurse Specialist. This role involves providing total perioperative nursing care, observing and assessing patient health status, initiating treatments and medications as prescribed, and administering therapeutic measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-operative assessments, including reviewing patient history and interviewing patients and family members
- Initiate resuscitative measures for newborns and critically ill emergency patients
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, oxygen, and other treatments as prescribed by the anesthesiologist and/or surgeon
- Monitor patients undergoing procedures under local anesthesia, assessing cardiopulmonary status and pain level
Requirements:
- ACLS, BCLS, PALS, TNCC certification
- Ability to work 80 hours per pay period, with rotating standby call services
- Knowledge of autoclaves, flash and washer sterilizer, ultrasound washers, hi-vac and gravity autoclaves, glucometer, and Steris
