Job Description & Requirements Specialty : CT Technologist Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : 04 / 07 / 2025 Duration : 52 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days Employment Type : Travel $500 Travel Allowance RT Technologist with Mammography Certification RT / Mammography Certified Technologist Weekday Coverage Mon-Friday 7 : 30 am – 4 pm or 8 : 00 am -4 : 30 pm The contractor technologists shall perform a full range of services in his / her specialty, including the most difficult cases. Three (3) Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) and AART Certified Mammogram Technicians are needed to cover hours. Services may include but are not limited to the following :
- Conducts all general imaging exams such as chest, head, abdominal, spine, upper and lower extremities.
- Independently performs standard examinations maintaining a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure.
- Maintains records and image files of patients examined.
- Utilizes a fixed Radiography unit.
- Utilizes a fixed mammogram unit.
- Utilizes a fixed bone density unit.
- Performs necessary Quality Control on radiography units and troubleshoots malfunctions and identifies need for external service reporting incidents to Radiology supervisor and / or Bio-Med.
- Is familiar with and follows all written procedures and policies including radiology and mammogram technical procedures, radiation safety, and infection control.
- Participates in radiology and mammogram proficiency testing as requested.
- Participates in the radiology quality assurance program and continuous quality improvement program as necessary.
- Sustain their expertise and awareness of changes & advances in practice through continuing education.
- Assists in keeping radiology area neat and orderly.
- Shall be knowledgeable and perform services using infection control practices in accordance with accreditation standards, IHS policy and procedures, and other regulating agencies and laws.
- Shall use personal protective equipment to protect patient and personnel from exposure to infectious disease(s) as appropriate.
- Professional knowledge of human anatomy, human physiology, pathology and medical terminology concepts, principles, and practices derived through formal education.
- Skill in evaluating examinations in process in order to recognize possible results / reactions from the norm. Repeats exams as appropriate if improper and imprecise outcomes occur and reports recurring abnormalities and deviations to the supervisor as necessary.
- Ability to identify, categorize, and perform radiology and mammogram services to address each patient’s age-specific needs (pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
- Technologists must think critically and use independent, professional and ethical judgment in all aspects of their work to enhance patient care and practice radiation safety.
- Provides services in a professional and respectful manner when interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Scheduled coverage will be Mondays through Fridays 8 : 00-4 : 30 or 7 : 30-4 : 00 as needed.
- Must be certified through ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) for RT and AART Certified Mammogram Technician.
- Must have current BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR certification.
- Other related duties as assigned. CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS The Contractor shall not employ any individual to provide direct health care services who is listed on the Health and Human Services (HHS) list of providers excluded from federally funded health care programs.
- The Radiology Staff shall be a U.S. citizen or otherwise meet other applicable requirements.
- The Radiology Staff shall successfully complete a criminal history background check and submit all required documents within 7 days of request.
- The Radiology Staff shall be able to read, write, and speak English well enough and enunciate with sufficient clarity to effectively communicate.
- The Radiology Staff shall possess sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity such that the Radiology Staff can relate to a variety of patients and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- The Radiology Staff shall be able to operate radiology, mammogram and bone density units and other job-related tasks. The WHC will provide training on their radiology equipment and other job-related functions. Failure to learn and perform actions independently within 2 weeks of beginning service may be grounds for immediate removal of the Radiology Staff.
- The Radiology staff must have current Registration in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and AART Certified Mammogram Technician.
