Job Summary
Responsible for all facets of reliability, including safety and environmental compliance, the safety of personnel, equipment performance monitoring, and efficient and effective maintenance of company assets. Actively involved in planning activities during the design phase, supports quality assurance during project execution and leads all day-to-day operational maintenance actions. Takes a proactive approach to reliability planning using preventive and predictive techniques based on data, experience, and OEM recommendations. Coordinates efforts with the operations and commercial teams to maximize equipment availability and continually improve maintenance and production operations. Presents a positive and professional image to customers, employees, peers, and the public.
Key Accountabilities
- Directly supervises maintenance activities through respective Supervisor(s). Develop and communicate long term vision, provide leadership direction, and align support with key activities.
- Leads and develops supervisors and ensures they do the same with their employees
- Ensures procedures and training programs are up to date.
- Assures that Safety and Environmental is very prominent in the Operations environment through demonstration and enforcement of all Company Safety and Environmental standards. This would include an active role in Safety Meetings.
- Develops and maintains complete maintenance plans for new and existing equipment; manages change to ensure compliance.
- Assists in the preparation of detailed efficiency studies and analyzes processes to conceptualize and determine requirements for the maintenance of equipment in conjunction with operational needs.

Improves reliability (metrics) of assets through optimization and modernization, including:
- Shall develop and maintain detailed preventative maintenance plans for all facility equipment. The plan shall meet or exceed manufacturer recommendations. The preventative maintenance tasks shall be placed and maintained within the computer-based maintenance software program.
- Assess/analyze performance of existing assets and reliability programs; develops and drives opportunities for improvement
- Ensures failure analysis is performed when appropriate, and that findings are shared throughout the organization.
- Manages critical spare inventory to balance reliability and cost effectiveness.
- Ensured third party contractors are managed well and evaluated for performance.
- Coordinates with the Operations Manager and the Engineering & Construction Department to provide input and assistance during the planning, design, construction and start-up phases of new facilities.
- Assists the Operations Manager with the preparation of annual maintenance O&M and capital budget, as well as provide periodic updates and forecasts.
- Maintains professional and high-level contact with customers, vendors and management.
- Ensures scheduled system repairs and maintenance are coordinated and clearly communicated with departments to minimize the effect of down time.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with contractual obligations to ensure that requirements are met.
- Consolidates data and prepares weekly and monthly activity reports as requested.
- Responsible for administration of the personnel management functions of subordinate staff, to include recruitment, orientation, training, evaluation, scheduling, disciplinary actions and termination.
- Will be on On-Call 24 hours per day and 7 days per week. Coverage of the Maintenance Manager duties shall be delegated when out of the area for business or personal reasons.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, subordinates (if any) and company officers and managers, clients, vendors, and suppliers.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times, including the ability to recognize situations in which confidentiality is required.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; with related on the job experience
- Experience identifying, researching, evaluating and prioritizing operational problems or specific situations and determining appropriate action/response
- Must have knowledge and skill using computers; including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, Pivot Tables, CAD, Internet Explorer and Outlook
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Other Qualifications Preferred:
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. An appropriate level of relevant and applicable work experience may be substituted for the education preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in the industrial maintenance facilities preferred.

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works at an asset location or project site. While working at the asset location and project sites, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including cold/hot, wet and/or humid conditions, uneven or steep terrain and may work near moving mechanical parts and/or machinery. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration (see physical requirements above). The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office but, may become loud at the project site
