Job Summary
The Principal Operational Technology Engineer will be responsible for implementation, maintenance, and optimization of process controls, programming and network infrastructure within our natural gas facilities. Applies expert level knowledge and background to ensure optimal performance and operation of operational technology (OT) systems, while adhering to industry standards and safety protocols.

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works both in a business office setting and at a project site. While working at a project site, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including cold/hot, wet and/or humid conditions, uneven or steep terrain and may work near moving mechanical parts and/or machinery. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration (see physical requirements above). The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office but, may become loud at the project site.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain operational technology (OT) systems, including SCADA, and other process control systems.
- Monitor performance of OT systems. Review and assess new technology, processes, materials and equipment.
- Assess operational limitations and implement solutions / strategies for improved processes and operational efficiency.
- Execute small projects related to pipeline interconnects and maintenance capital.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect OT systems from potential threats.
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, IT and related teams to ensure seamless integration of OT systems.
- Must be able to make sound engineering decisions under limited time constraints.
- Monitor and support OT related projects.
- Ensure compliance with industry and safety regulations and procedures.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering)
- 9 years of job-related experience, including experience with OT systems, SCADA and network infrastructure
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with people at all levels both within and outside the company.
- Effective in self-management of time with a demonstrated personal commitment to work.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of natural gas industry standards and regulations.
