Job Summary
Provides expertise and guidance on legal services in matters of complexity, sensitivity, and significant financial impact to the company. Serves as expert with in-depth legal skills in one or more specialized areas. Leads others in legal projects and mentors other attorneys and legal staff. Represents company interests in formal and informal legal proceedings, including federal, state or local judicial, or dispute resolution processes. Span of control : 0; individual contributor.
Key Accountabilities
- Regularly participates in the resolution of complex, sensitive, and / or financially significant legal matters and ensures resolution in an efficient manner
- Researches legal principles and precedents, including consulting with outside legal counsel
- Anticipates significant legal issues in practice area of expertise and develops innovative legal solutions that support business objectives
- Drafts and executes legal documents, including gathering relevant information using multiple sources and methods
- Develops legal resolutions with business problems in one or more specialized areas of legal practice
- Provides expert guidance and work instructions to other professional, paraprofessional, and staff
- Works without supervision and collaborates with all levels of internal clients
